Comics Salopia The trail with a difference!

One script. One trail. Nine life sized art pieces. Ten world famous comic artists and writers. 

All in Shrewsbury, from 24th July 2021!

Comics Salopia is back! This time we are partnering with Shrewsbury Town Council, Shropshire Council and Shrewsbury BID to bring you an exciting life sized comic art trail across the town, authored and created by the biggest names in British Comics.

This huge trail will be a free entry, interactive experience that will entice you to and around the beautiful town of Shrewsbury, telling a story that you can be a part of! Join in, using the hash tag #ComicsTrail2021, and take selfies of yourself with the art for a chance to be entered into a monthly draw to win an amazing prize on the Sabrina Little Rea picnic boat!

We have workshops galore, plenty of fun, inclusive and inspiring events for all ages.

Former British Comics Laureate and local hero Charlie Adlard is not only one of the most talented artists in the industry, but without a doubt, one of the most hard working and dedicated. Charlie has been a “veteran” of the comic industry for over 20 years. He’s spent the majority of his time since 2004 working on The Walking Dead for which he has received many industry awards. In his time as a cartoonist he has worked on many other projects as far reaching as Mars Attacks, the X-Files, Judge Dredd, Savage, Batman, X-Men, Superman etc and creator-owned projects closer to his heart like Astronauts In Trouble, Codeflesh, Rock Bottom, and White Death

John’s career in comics began in the late 1960’s as a member of the editorial staff with D. C. Thomson & Co. before becoming a freelance writer and a staff editor at IPC in the 1970s. In that decade he wrote an immeasurable amount of material and established himself as a highly sought after and talented writer. Most well known for the creation of the iconic Judge Dredd along with artist Carlos Ezquerra, Wagner also created other great characters like Strondium Dog and Robo Hunter for 2000ad.

Known for his dynamic style, his work at Marvel and DC includes Punisher, Green Arrow, Wolverine, Universe-X, Thor, Journey Into Mystery, Batman, Justice – to name just a few! He’s also had successful spells at Image and Valiant comics, producing some powerful, thought-provoking and critically acclaimed work.
