With 2 seasons of his own TV show (Hate Thy Neighbour) broadcast globally on the Vice Network and his new series Adventures in Futureland about to transmit on Channel 4 Jamali Maddix has had an incredible accession from being a Chortle Student Comedian of the Year Winner in 2015.
He is also in the middle of an impressive world tour selling out dates from North America, across the UK and Europe as well as Australia and Asia.
However he will be taking a break from his busy schedule to take part in the this summer’s Comics Salopia Festival.
Jamali has a plethora of gigs under his belt – he plays the Comedy Store and toured with them in the Middle East. In June 2015 he supported Jim Jefferies before a 3,500 strong Hyde Park audience. His debut hour at the Edinburgh Fringe was a total sell out and received rave reviews. He has since followed that up with another complete sell out run of Edinburgh this year with his new show ‘Vape Lord’ before his world tour.
He has also done a plethora of TV shows including The John Bishop Show, Live at the Apollo and 8 out of 10 Cats and Dara O’Brien’s Go 8 Bit. He has since been asked to host Live at the Apollo for this year’s series.
But on June 1st and 2nd he’ll be stepping out of his comfort zone and interviewing some of the biggest names in comics including writers Andy Diggle, Alex Paknadel, Pierrick Colinet and artist Frank Quitely.
He’ll be using his unique charm to prize gems of insight from guest creators at the festival, uncovering their working methods, influences and forthcoming projects.
Tickets for the festival events, which are all raising money for local charity “Share Shrewsbury” are on sale now via the festival website.
