Saturday 15.00 – 16.00 at The Guildhall, Room 019

Since image comics burst onto the scene in the early 90’s with characters like Todd McFarlane’s Spawn and Jim Lee’s Wildcats they have been a major player in the western comics industry, once even becoming the number two publisher ahead of DC Comics at the height of their popularity.

But when Jim Valentino started to introduce different types of stories into the mix other than just super-heroes, the publisher took an exciting turn creatively.
This was developed more and more over the years and since Eric Stephenson has been at the helm the publisher has strengthened it’s position as a world leader and champion for creator owned comics, delivering diverse and exciting titles into the comics market place, many of which have become huge well known brands, such as The Walking Dead and Saga.

Join Leonard Sultana as he hosts a panel with Publisher Eric Stephenson, writer Kieron Gillen and artist Charlie Adlard as they talk about how creator owned comics have changed the face of the industry and look to the future of comics publishing in these challenging times ahead.
